Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: March 6, 2026
Welcome to the website of the California Equestrian Association (“CEA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at www.ceainc.org (the “Site”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site and any content, functionality, services, or features offered through the Site (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Site or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Site or Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher) to use the Site. If you are under 18 (or the applicable age of majority), you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Site, and that parent/guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will not:
-
Violate any applicable federal, state, local, or international law;
-
Transmit any material that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable;
-
Infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights;
-
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt the Site or servers;
-
Use any robot, spider, or other automatic device to monitor or copy Site content.
4. Intellectual Property
The Site and its contents (text, graphics, logos, images, horse-related materials, event information, etc.) are owned by CEA or its licensors and protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view, download, and print content for personal, non-commercial use only, provided you retain all copyright and proprietary notices. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
5. User Submissions
If the Site allows submissions (e.g., comments, event photos, membership forms), you grant CEA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in any form. You represent that your submissions do not infringe third-party rights.
6. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., sponsors, event partners, donation processors). We do not endorse or control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Access them at your own risk.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CEA, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED $100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CEA and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Stanislaus County, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code § 1542: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
12. Miscellaneous
If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in effect. No waiver of any term is a further waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CEA regarding the Site.
